Christmas Gifts! Scotty Dog Sitting on a Mushroom...

Hello! I hope you all had a beautiful holiday!
I know I had an awesome HANDMADE Holiday!

Christmas Eve my Momma showed me this...

I couldn't believe it! My favorite dog is a Scotty...
and I love the quirkiness of mushrooms...
And so this Scotty Dog sitting on a mushroom was the
absolute
best
present
ever!!

So, this is my newest needle-felted friend by Momma!
We put the mushroom into an inherited antique crystal creamer...
Thank you, Momma :)

We added black glass eyes for shimmer...
and he had instant personality!
Hope you are all having a great week!

Cleanin' House! Look Out World!

Woo hoo! I love to clean!!
Even though it takes away from time for blogging and art and other stuff...

Mom and I found these old doll clothes in a pile of fabric
in some of our stuff...

I bet they would look so cute on someone's favorite teddy bear!
You can find the collection on my Etsy shop!

Still green here in New York...
I'm kind of happy. I love the warmth but I hope we have a
white Christmas.

Either way I hope you are all having an awesome holiday season!
Stay safe friends!
:)

Black Friday Finds! Antique Style...

What a week!
First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to all my lovely readers!
I love reading all of your comments and I treasure your ideas!
:)

Usually my momma and I wake up early to go out to
the mall for Black Friday.

But this year we didn't really need anything.

So, as the strangest-of-strange crafty people do...

We thought we needed more antique supplies.

And a good road trip!!

So we set on our merry way to Ithaca.

We knew that there were some nifty shops in Trumansburg
(on the way to Ithaca)...

And a HUGE antique mall just outside the
'Gorgeous' city...

We found some stuff!
(insert evil little smiley face here)
>:)

I saw a cigar box... And I have so many...
I just had to look inside (usually there isn't anything)

FULL to the brim with these buttons!
And I didn't even have to wash them!
So bizarre...

All kinds of colors... plastic and vegetable...

And then... Two super vintage mugs!

I enjoy the clear glass measuring cups for water when I paint...

And this peace mug was so adorable!

LOVE!

LOVE this side even more!

And then... We were headed home.
After a successful day trip we decided that we still had more in us.

So we went to an even BIGGER antique mall closer to home.
This enamel bowl was so modern and clean...
I was amazed and so it came home with me :)

I need to visit Finland next...

I think every mushroom is different...
I've just never really seen anything like it!

I hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving...
I know it was great to see family again.

Have a great Sunday!
Much love!

I Won A Giveaway! And How Cute!

I won Pinky!!! I saw a giveaway on
Two Bags Full's page and commented...

I saw this Breast Cancer Awareness ewe
(craftily made by the very creative lady of Days at Buttermilk Cottage!)
and wished for her!

This means so much to me and as Vicki said to me,
"It was fate!"

I'm so thankful for friends such as Pinky and Vicki for
bringing smiles to those around them.
I've been trying to blog as much as possible but I have limited extra time.

Things like this help me realize that blogging is just meeting new friends.
I need to blog more :)

Now Pinky can join my other handmade pets;
I made this owl a few years ago. He matches Pinky quite nicely!
Have a lovely rest of your night, friends.

My Crafty Friends!

Today I was listing a few of my vintage clip on earring pairs on Etsy...
and my cat Tippy decided to stop by.
I love cats, BUT they are mischievous little creatures!

Then I needed a way to display dangling earrings...
That's where my favorite porcelain giraffe, Avery, came in.
Avery is a family name...
When I was coming up with a name for my business I automatically thought:
Avery Hill.
Later my grandfather told me that my great-great-great-great(?)
grandmother used to head her letters in quill & ink
as Avery Hill.

*goosebumps!*

These are the earrings left over that are not in pairs...
What should I do with them? :)

I hope you have had an awesome weekend!

Vintage Clip On Earrings!

I found these earrings once, but I only saw the fronts...

and then I saw they were clip ons.
It was a sad day.

I probably could have figured out how to change them to post earrings...
or I could have made something crafty with them.

All I can do is look at them...
Whenever I use something for other than its purpose
I feel guilty. Maybe someone wanted to use these for what they were made for?

So... I am leaving the creative decision up to Etsy!

These are vintage clip on earrings that I am selling on my Etsy Shop.

I have so many and I cannot keep them all to myself.

This one is enamel... AMAZING! :)

Can you believe its almost Christmas?
I love holly... Maybe I'll buy some for Christmas this year...

I think this one may be enamel too...

Unfortunately, some of these earrings don't have couples!
They are lonely and so I found them mismatching friends.

My favorite 60's retro pair!! :)

Autumn earrings...
The leaves here in upstate New York are falling...
And its freezing!

I hope you are all having a lovely autumn!
Getting in the holiday mood watching Christmas movies today!
:)
